Thanks to the input of our members and volunteers, IFLA’s Governing Board took a first key step towards our new Strategy at its last meeting, leading to a set of 10 suggested change pathways. We are now seeking your input on these – the priorities that will guide the preparation of our Strategy 2024-2029.
Over the coming weeks, IFLA will be asking its members and volunteers about your experiences of engaging with the current strategy, and ideas for the future. This will allow the Governing Board formally to launch the process of developing a Strategy for 2024-2029 at its December meeting.
On 16-19 October, over 50 librarians from 32 Sub-Saharan African countries met in Nairobi, Kenya, to learn, share, and accelerate progress towards IFLA’s goal of strong and sustainable library fields at all levels. The meetings were made possible thanks to a grant from Stichting IFLA Global Libraries.

IFLA’s current strategy comes to an end next year, and so it is time to start reflecting on how it has worked, and what should follow. This year’s World Library and Information Congress provides an opportunity to start gathering feedback – we’re looking forward to your views!
