IFLA Regional Divisions
IFLA’s Regional Division Committees work to support advocacy, and the development and delivery of action plans that respond to the needs of the library field across the region, in line with IFLA’s overall Strategy.
IFLA works with six Regional Divisions, broadly mirroring the division of the world used for the United Nations’ Regional Commissions. Each Division has a Regional Division Committee, made up of 15-20 people elected by IFLA’s Members in the region.
To do this, they work with other relevant committees and groups, as well as IFLA’s Headquarters, Regional Offices and others as appropriate.
Members of Regional Division Committees represent a diversity of backgrounds and experiences but then act on behalf of all libraries in the region. They contribute actively to efforts to engage Members and reach out to non-Members.
