Advisory Committee on Copyright and other Legal Matters
The Advisory Committee on Copyright and other Legal Matters (CLM) focuses on questions around the acquisition and use of library resources and effective library services, including copyright laws, and subscription and license agreements.
It provides advice to the Governing Board on IFLA’s position and response to emerging issues in these areas.
CLM also plays a leading role in work around open access, open science and open education, and is the primary IFLA committee discussing IFLA’s work to promote copyright reform at the global level, notably at the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
Committee members regularly share information, produce research and statements, and organise sessions at conferences, including the IFLA World Library and Information Congress. They also contribute their expertise to support colleagues around the world in national copyright reforms.
CLM has 10 members, including a chair, appointed by the Governing Board, as well as ex officio members and expert advisors.
