The Gothenburg Museum of Art, located on the top of the "Boulevard of Gothenburg", has one of the leading collections of Nordic art from the turn of the previous century. On the top floor visitors find the Fürstenberg Gallery, originally a private collection which was later donated to the museum. The gallery is installed in a setting typical of its period, and here visitors find paintings by such Nordic artists as Ernst Josephson, Carl Larsson, P. S Krøyer and Anders Zorn. Unlike other major national art museums, the Gothenburg Museum of art does not have its origins in royal orprincely collections. It is the people of Gothenburg themselves who have created the museum through donations of works and resources.
The Gothenburg Museum of Art has three stars in Michelin Green Guide Scandinavia. After the visit the group is invited for coffee with pastry at the Café and after the break the tour continues along the Avenue, 5 - 10 minutes walk to Röhsska Museum of Design.

West Coast with Water Colour Museum

This tour takes us north along our beautiful Westcoast. We start by travelling to Kungälv where the meeting of Three Kings once took place. There we walk along the charming Västra Gatan street and hear about the centuries of drama played out at Bohus fortress. We leave Kungälv by bus, which takes us over the Tjörn bridges and further into the North Sea. We visit some of the fishing communities that used to - and still do to some extent - depend on the fishing industry, the tinned goods industry, boatyards and sea freight. A knowledgeable guide talks about Bohus county traditions, its history, gastronomy, architecture and its flora and fauna. We visit the Nordic Watercolour Museum where we enjoy stimulating art, beautiful sea views and a good lunch at the museum restaurant. Before returning to the city we will make a stop for a coffee break and you can taste the traditional "äggost" in a traditional farm house. The archipelago tour in Bohus county takes around 7 hours.
