Individuals
Individuals can become Affiliates of IFLA. IFLA offers four categories of Affiliate membership for individuals – Personal Affiliate, Student Affiliate, New Graduate, and a Non-salaried Affiliate.

Personal Affiliates
If you wish to show your interest in and support for the purpose and professional activities of IFLA, you can join as a Personal Affiliate.
Student Affiliates
If you are currently a student in librarianship or information studies, you can join IFLA as a Student Affiliate.
New Graduates
If you have graduated in library and information science in the past two years, you can join IFLA as a New Graduate.
Non-salaried
If you are not currently in paid employment and do not expect to be within the next three months, non-salaried membership might be for you.
Membership fees
Personal Affiliates have a fixed annual membership fee and enjoy a range of membership benefits such a free registration to a Section of their interest and the appropriate Regional Division, nomination rights for a number of positions at IFLA’s elections, and discounts on IFLA publications and for the IFLA World Library and Information Congress.
Affiliates in the other three categories – Student Affiliates, New Graduates, Non-salaried – have a lower annual membership fee, in recognition of their status, but they enjoy the same membership benefits and rights as Personal Affiliates.
Free registration to relevant Regional Division is included in addition to the number of free Sections.
