Strategies for Stronger Libraries

IFLA’s Strategy 2019-24 is designed not just as a guide for IFLA in its work, but also as a support for our Members and the wider library field.

Through a series of regional workshops, we are exploring the Strategy alongside representatives of national library fields, both in order to identify areas of alignment and work together to build capacity for strategic thinking.

Storytelling for Advocacy

At the heart of advocacy is the ability to win support from others. An excellent way of doing this is through telling powerful stories, backed up by evidence, demonstrating the importance and impact of libraries, library professionals and their work.

Get Into Guides

A key part of IFLA’s advocacy work is our engagement with international organisations and processes. Yet often, these processes are not limited to the international level; there are possibilities to get involved nationally and even locally. IFLA’s Get Into… Guides provide an overview of the different possibilities, what libraries can gain from getting involved, and practical ideas on how you can do this.
