This year the theme is No Library Left Behind: Cross-Border Resource Sharing

The organizers aim at studying international resource sharing, its barriers, problems and also success stories. Come to Paris to hear how our institutions whether public, academic, special or national libraries, can improve the system and provide guidance and support to their users.

The following topics are of particular interest for papers but we also welcome proposals on other topics related to international resource sharing:

  • Open access impact on document supply
  • New models of purchase on demand/patron driven acquisition
  • Opportunities and threats for ILL staff in a period of dramatic changes
  • Copyright and contract / licensing agreement – an uneasy relationship
  • Article usage/journal usage – focusing on low use material
  • OCLC WorldShare ILL
  • The state of ILL today
  • Search engines and ILL
  • Country studies – particularly France but also neighboring countries
  • International resource sharing concerns, such as; delivery methods, payment options, interoperability of systems, computer standards
  • Challenges and solutions to sharing electronic resources such as e-books and e-journals
  • Open source systems and their role in resource sharing
  • New frontiers for library consortia or collaboration between individual libraries
