Message from the Regional Office for Asia and Oceania
23 October 2023
Dear friends,
On behalf of the IFLA Regional Office, we congratulate all members of the incoming IFLA Regional Division Committee for Asia and Oceania. A special thanks goes out to all the outgoing members. We are humbled and privileged to work alongside with all of you.
We are excited to bring you the latest issue of the IFLA Asia and Oceania Regional newsletter! With further relaxation on travel restrictions, we are heartened to see more in-person meetings, congresses and study trips happening in the region. These gatherings of minds and connections have long been sources of innovation, enlightenment, and inspirations – enriching our lives and adding depth to the narratives that we weave in our own communities.
While the human connections forged with in-person meetings are invaluable, we would not forget to continue to reach out to the larger library community and capitalise on the benefits of video-conferencing. One such opportunity is the sharing on the topic of Digitisation and Preservation hosted by Australian Library and Information Association, a video-recording of the sharing is available.
We hope that the features, updates, and articles in this newsletter will resonate with you.
We would also like to take the opportunity to congratulate Ms Soh Lin Li on her appointment as vice-chair of the Regional Council.
