IFLA RISS + IFLA Strategy: survival skills for a digital world

Closely aligned to the IFLA Key Initiative 2.4 “Provide tools and infrastructure that support the work of libraries,” the IFLA Reference & Information Services Section (IFLA RISS) has worked to support librarians and library users develop the digital skills which have become survival skills in the COVID era.
The COVID-19 crisis has made our dependence on digital skills clearer than ever before and the work done by the IFLA RISS is more relevant than ever before. The IFLA RISS Standing Committee created two infographics that demonstrate competencies needed for librarians as they help individuals find and make sense of information.
The first infographic can be used by libraries in their delivery of online help via chat services, something that has dramatically grown in importance over the past year.
