IFLA Management and Marketing Section + IFLA Strategy: International Marketing Award
17 March 2021
Closely aligned to the IFLA Key Initiative 4.4 “Increase our visibility through excellent and innovative communications” IFLA’s Management and Marketing Section (IFLA M&M) has been holding, since 2003, the International Marketing Award, which recognises creative, results-oriented marketing projects or campaigns from around the world.
The award helps illustrate to IFLA’s broad audience what makes a successful marketing campaign. The jury endeavors to recognise campaigns that can be adopted regardless of budget size. By observing, emulating, or being inspired by winning campaigns, institutions can better communicate the power of libraries, and thus support IFLA’s strategy to strengthen the global voice of libraries.
Three finalists are selected based on innovative contributions to marketing in the library field. The submission deadline for this year’s IFLA PressReader International Marketing Award is 19 March 2021.
Thanks to the generosity of the award’s sponsor, PressReader, the first, second, and third place winners will receive funds towards the purchase of new technology for their library-related activities. First place will receive €3,000, second place will receive €2,000, and third place will receive €1,500. The top 10 submissions will also be recognised.

Anya Feltreuter, Chair of the IFLA M&M Section shared some backstage spiciness:
Any current or past juror for the award can tell you it is an absolute pleasure and truly inspiring to have the opportunity to review the submissions, and there are spirted discussions as jurors work to whittle them down to the best of the best. In addition to amplifying best marketing practices, the awards inspire and enhance professional practice, while they also help showcase IFLA as the global voice in libraries.”
