IFLA Library and Research Services for Parliaments Section and IPU Joint Virtual Conference “Parliamentary library & research services – towards an agenda for the next decade”
6 – 8 October 2021 (UTC 12:00 -16:00 each day).
Conference themes include:
- How library and research services have responded to the challenges of the pandemic and some longer-term implications
- Parliamentary strengthening in support of library and research services
- The role of data in parliamentary research and library services
- Accessibility, diversity, and inclusion
- Service strategies for the 2020s
The IFLA Library and Research Services for Parliaments Section (IFLAPARL) as the global organisation of parliamentary library & research services, will offer a joint conference with the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU). The conference will include several sessions of presentations and panel discussions each day on a variety of topical issues, including a presentation of the results of the 2021 COVID-19 Survey of parliamentary services; parliamentary strengthening support for library and research services; data collection; accessibility; service strategies; and a workshop day of particular interest to new and developing services and to younger professionals and managers.
This will be an online virtual event, free of charge to registered delegates. Interpretation to and from English, French and Spanish will be available in the plenary meeting room. All sessions will include time for questions & answers or another form of participation by delegates.
