IFLA Division C is hosting a Webinar Series for LIS students that aims to create a place for students to share their projects, research, and ideas about different topics related to libraries.
April´s webinar will be dedicated to “Boost your leadership confidence: Coaching for LIS students”.

This webinar is about the basics of coaching and how it can support and guide the professional journey of LIS students. In addition, the project of the IFLA Continuing Professional Development and Workplace Learning (CPDWL), the Coaching Initiative, will be presented.
The webinar explores the benefits of coaching and what to expect from a coaching session. Participants will learn how coaching differs from mentoring and encourage them to take advantage of coaching when it is offered.
The webinar will be led by Vera Keown. Vera is the Organizational Development Librarian at the University of Manitoba. She has over 25 years of experience cultivating exceptional client relationships, managing projects, programs, and teams, and mentoring individuals to grow and succeed in their careers. Through coaching she empowers individuals and groups to discover and realize their true potential and experience success and fulfillment in all their pursuits. She partners with clients so that they can become the leader they were meant to be through confidential, one-on-one executive and leadership coaching. Vera is a graduate of the Royal Roads University’s Graduate Certificate in Executive Coaching and is an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) with International Coach Federation (ICF). Vera is certified to deliver EQ-i2.0 & EQ360 assessments, the EXPEDITION Coaching® Program Leadership Coaching Skills Workshop, and the individual and team CliftonStrengths assessments. She holds a B.Sc. (Honours) in Genetics and a Master of Library and Information Studies (MLIS).
The webinar will be moderated by Almuth Gastinger. Almuth received a Master‘s degree and PhD in the field of Applied Informatics from the Technical University of Ilmenau in Germany. She has been working as academic librarian for Mathematics and Mechanical Engineering at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim for 22 years. Since 2007 she has been an active member of various IFLA committees. At the moment, she serves as secretary of IFLA CPDWL and is a member of the Coaching Initiative working group.
We invite LIS students to participate in this interactive webinar. The number of participants is limited. If you are unable to attend, please unsubscribe from the webinar so that other colleagues can attend.

- What does success look like? What would you like the outcome of your goal/challenge/issue/opportunity to be?
