Within the framework of the Himaya Project to fight against the illicit trafficking of cultural property, the IFLA PAC Regional Center at Qatar National Library invites you to this webinar which will address the importance of digitization in protecting cultural property and combating illicit trafficking, as well common challenges in using digitization to protect cultural heritage.

We will also highlight the Turathi heritage digitization project in Algeria. This platform helps law enforcement to identify cultural goods at risk of trafficking, and allows the public to learn more about heritage materials found in Algeria.

Speakers

Peter Herdrich: is the co-founder of the US-based Antiquities Coalition, where he directs strategic cultural heritage projects. He has worked for the last three years with the Ministry of Culture and Arts in Algeria on digital infrastructure projects, including at libraries and museums.

Abir Chorfa: currently serves as program manager for the Antiquities Coalition’s projects in her native country of Algeria. During her work, she has led and overseen the development and implementation of multiple solutions for safeguarding heritage and furthering international cooperation.

Helena Arose: is the director of programs at the Antiquities Coalition. In this role, she closely collaborates with representatives from international governments, law enforcement agencies, international partners, academics, and other key stakeholder groups to develop and implement programs to fight the illicit trade in ancient art and antiquities.

في إطار مشروع “حماية” لمكافحة الاتجار غير المشروع بالممتلكات الثقافية، يدعوكم مركز الإفلا الإقليمي بمكتبة قطر الوطنية إلى حضور هذه الندوة عبر الإنترنت والتي ستتناول أهمية الرقمنة في حماية الممتلكات الثقافية ومكافحة الاتجار غير المشروع بها، فضلاً عن التحديات المشتركة في استخدام الرقمنة لحماية التراث الثقافي.

نسلط أيضًا الضوء على مشروع “تراثي” لرقمنة التراث الوثائقي في الجزائر، والذي يهدف إلى مساعدة جهات إنفاذ القانون على تحديد السلع الثقافية المعرضة لخطر الاتجار، وتمكن الجمهور من معرفة المزيد عن المواد التراثية في الجزائر.

المتحدثون في هذه الجلسة

بيتر هيردريش: المؤسس المشارك لتحالف الآثار (مقره في الولايات المتحدة) حيث يدير مشاريع التراث الثقافي الاستراتيجية. وقد تعاون في السنوات الثلاث الماضية مع وزارة الثقافة والفنون في الجزائر في مشاريع البنية التحتية الرقمية التي تشمل المكتبات والمتاحف.

عبير شرفة: مديرة برامج مشاريع ائتلاف الآثار في بلدها الأصلي الجزائر. وقادت أثناء عملها وأشرفت على إعداد حلول متعددة لحماية التراث وتعزيز التعاون الدولي وتنفيذها.

هيلينا آروز: مديرة البرامج في تحالف الآثار. ومن خلال هذا الدور، تتعاون هيلينا تعاونًا وثيقًا مع ممثلين من الحكومات الدولية ووكالات تطبيق القانون والشركاء الدوليين والأكاديميين وغيرهم من الجهات والأطراف المعنية لإعداد برامج مكافحة الاتجار غير المشروع بالأعمال الفنية والآثار القديمة.
