Venue

The Puerto Rico Convention Centre (PRCC) is the largest congress centre in the Caribbean and the most technologically advanced throughout both the Caribbean and Latin America. With 580,000 square feet of total space, the centre can accommodate groups of up to 10,000, in an ideal setting at the gateway to all the Island has to offer. A dream conceived more than 10 years ago, the new Puerto Rico Convention Centre is now located in the heart of San Juan in the Peninsula of Isla Grande next to Miramar, Condado, and Old San Juan. Today, this modern and cutting edge convention centre will be the drawing force for a new era of economic and tourism development in Puerto Rico. There will be access to Wifi within the Convention Centre for all delegates on a complimentary basis.

Special bus transport services will operate for delegates between the congress hotels each day from early to mid morning, and then late afternoon/early evening for delegates.

Core Congress Dates

13 - 18 August 2011
The Opening Ceremony and the Exhibition Reception will take place at the Puerto Rico Convention Centre in San Juan on Sunday 14 August 2011.

Exhibition

The World Library and Information Congress trade exhibition will be held in the Puerto Rico Convention Centre in San Juan in conjunction with the Congress. The exhibition will be open from the afternoon of Sunday 14 August, until Wednesday 17 August. Final opening hours will be included in the Congress Programme.

Simultaneous Interpretation

Simultaneous interpretation services will be available in seven languages: English, French, German, Russian, Spanish, Chinese (Mandarin) and Arabic. This service will be available for the opening and closing sessions and other selected sessions. Please look for the SI mark in the Congress Programme.

Congress Material

You will receive your Congress documentation onsite from the registration desk. The documentation will include the Congress Programme, a CD-ROM with the Congress
Papers, the Participants List, the Exhibition Catalogue and other relevant materials.

IFLA Congress Communication

Before and during the Congress, IFLA willdistribute news items through several channels, such as the IFLA Mailing List, a Pre-Congress Newsletter, social media and a special Congress website. With special thanks to the IFLA language teams, most of this information will be made available in all IFLA Working Languages.

Lunches and Refreshments

Lunches and refreshments are not included in your registration fees. However, a food service will be provided to enable delegates to purchase food and beverages at the Puerto Rico Convention Centre.

Congress Secretariat
